Become a Member

Membership in the Alberta Students’ Executive Council is open to any Students’ Association or Students’ Union in Alberta. Our membership comprises Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges from around the province. Our smallest member has 696 students, while our largest has 24,587. No matter the size or specialty of your institution, ASEC is here to serve the students of Alberta.

How to become a member

Process

To join ASEC, a Students’ Association or Union must first vote on the issue through their students’ council. Once there has been a successful vote, a letter of intent must be sent to the ASEC home office. That is it!

Benefits

One of the primary benefits of membership in ASEC is the ability to shape our advocacy priorities and actions. ASEC also provides professional development training and many opportunities to network and meet your counterparts from not only around the province, but from around the country.

Cost

The cost of membership is determined by the number of students at your home institution. There is a fee per student Full-Time Load Equivalent (FLE) that is tied to the long run rate of inflation. This means that our fee remains affordable and predictable for all our members.
